| Buttermere |
| Buttermere is one of the Lake District's
best kept secrets. A
walk around the perimeter - mostly along flat,
prepared paths - is one of the most enjoyable ways to spend
an afternoon. |

| The Langdales |
| If you fancy something a little more challenging
then take a trip to Langdales and experience some of the
most breathtaking and challenging scenery in the Lakes. |

 |
| Elterwater |
| After a hard day's walking there's just
enough time to stop for a breather at the pituresque village
of Elterwater. The local hostelry - the Britannia - is one of the
best pubs in the Lakes! |

Using Ambleside as a base for your stay
in the Lakes is a wise choice. Everything you could possible want
night or day is on your doorstep (or at least ours!).
A five minute walk into the centre of Ambleside gives you lots of
shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and our lovely cinema (Zeferellis).
A five minutes walk in the opposite direction and you're on the shores
of Lake Windermere where again there are cafes, a lovely pub and
the ferry stop.
Last but not least there are all the beautiful walks you can do right
from our front door; Loughrigg, Wansfell, Fairfield Horseshoe and
beautiful surrounding countryside! We've lots of books to help you
on your way. |
